Born in Mount Edgecumbe, AK, Joe was raised as a commercial fisherman in Yakutat. He is a member of the Teikweidí (Brown Bear) clan, eagle moiety of the Yakutat Tlingit tribe. After graduating Yakutat High School, Joe attended college in Southern California. He received a Bachelor of Arts in political science from UCLA in 1996 and earned his Master of Arts in American Indian Studies in 1998. In 2001, he received a Juris Doctorate from Loyola Law School. Currently, Joe is the Vice Chancellor of Enrollment Management at the University of Alaska Southeast.

Amanda BremmerSecretary/Treasurer

X’oos Geik, Amanda Bremner Porter, was born to James and Shelley Bremner of Yakutat, Alaska.  She is of the Teikweidi clan and child of the L’uknax.ádi.  Her grandfather was Yagúl.éesh (Harold “Buddy” Bremner) of the Gaalyáx Kaagwaantaan and her great-grandfather was Dlaasxei (Harry K. Bremner) of the K’ineix Kwáan.  She is an alumni of the Yakutat High School and holds a Bachelor of Liberal Arts, emphasis in English and minor in the Tlingit language, from the University of Alaska, Southeast.

My name is La.at, english name is Esther L Brooks. I am Raven, Coho, from the Frog house. I am the child of the Thunderbird from Dry Bay.

I was born in Juneau, AK April 6th, at St Ann’s hospital (currently  St Ann’s nursing home). I am the fourth child, out of six.  I grew up in Yakutat.

My parents are John George Williams, Sr., and Dora Ann Williams. My paternal grandparents are John and Maggie Williams.

Debra Lekanof has been with the Swinomish Indian Tribal Community since 2001 and serves as the Intergovernmental Affairs Liaison for Chairman Brian Cladoosby. She has engaged in local, regional, national and international governmental policy. The areas of government policy has ranged from economic development and growth, health care, social services, education, culture and international relations.

Lisa Nelson was born in Anchorage to the parents of James and Deanna Nelson.  She is the granddaughter of Jerry and Helena Nelson.  Lisa moved from Yakutat during her early childhood years but was lucky enough to visit in the summers once she was older.  She graduated high school at Skyline High in Mesa, Arizona and began college at Northern Arizona University.  Lisa finished her Bachelor's degree at Evergreen State College in 2010.
